NIXA, MO - The Nixa Lady Eagles improved to 15 and 1 on the season with a 3-2 overtime win over Springfield Catholic Monday night at Cooper Soccer Complex.
Nixa took a 1-0 lead into the half on Jordyn Hoskins' late goal.
It was 2-0 Nixa when freshman Alyson Galler booted it home in the 55th minute with assists from fellow frosh Shalynn Thomas and senior Lauren Moats.
Catholic stormed back in the final 6 minutes scoring a pair of goals to send the game to overtime. Nicole Ortega and Allie Banasik with the tallies.
But it was Moats who sent the Nixa faithful home happy with a "golden goal" just 6 minutes into overtime.
2-time defending state champ Catholic, currently ranked 2nd in class 1 falls to 13 and 6 on the season.
