SPRINGFIELD, MO - Not exactly what they were aiming for, but the Clever Blue Jays finished their season with a win for the 2nd straight season. Clever (27-4) knocked off Summit Christian 3-1 in Thursday night's class 2 3rd place game at Meador Park.
Senior David Pennewell led the way for Clever going 2 for 4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs. He also picked up the win on the mound, going 5.1 innings, allowing just 5 hits while striking out 5 batters.
8 different players had hits for Clever, including Philip Valence's 2 for 4 night.
