SPRINGFIELD, MO - Hillcrest senior Dorial Green-Beckham received the Marty Eddelmon Memorial Most Valuable Player Award at Monday's Springfield Tip-Off Club senior banquet. The annual lunch is to honor senior basketball players in Springfield.
Green-Beckham and the Hillcrest Hornets face McDonald County Wednesday night in the class 4 sectional Wednesday night at Willard High School. DGB is Springfield's all-time career points leader with 2,007 points so far.
Glendale coach Sean Williamson received the Jack Roberts Memorial Coach of the Year Award, leading the Falcons to 19 wins, an undefeated Ozark Conference championship, and a spot in the class 5 district 11 championship game.
Central High School was honored with the Eddie Matthews Sportsmanship Award. First year Bulldogs coach Armando Johnson accepted the award for Central.
