BRUNSWICK, Md. — Scott Bennett had two hits and four RBIs to lead Boonsboro to a 9-1 MVAL Antietam victory over Brunswick on Wednesday.
The Warriors (6-8, 4-5) blew the game open with a four-run second inning to take a 5-0 lead. They scored all nine of their runs before Brunswick (9-5, 5-4) got on the scoreboard in the seventh.
Riley Stephenson pitched five scoreless innings for Boonsboro, allowing six hits — all singles — while striking out two.
Brian Cibula had two hits and two RBIs, while Ryan Ruiz added two hits and Justin Lewis and Zach Poffenberger scored four runs each for Boonsboro.

Fort Ritchie Criterium
CASCADE, Md. — Three riders from Antietam Velo Club/Team Hagerstown-Washington County Tourism won races Sunday at the fifth annual Fort Ritchie Criterium.
John Olinski won the Masters 55-plus race, Ramon Benitez won the Masters 45-plus race and Dennis Crockett won the Masters III/IV 35-plus race.
Other top-eight placewinners from the club included Mike Spinnler, who finished third in the Masters III/IV 35-plus race and fourth in the Masters 45-plus race, Crockett, who was third in the Masters 55-plus race, and Stephen Brooks, who was seventh in Senior IV race.

Goretti basketball camps
St. Maria Goretti will conduct three basketball clinics during the summer under the direction of boys head coach Amrit Rayfield.
The Boys Camp will be held June 18-21 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. for boys entering grades 4-9.
A Co-ed Camp will be held July 16-19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for boys and girls entering the same grades.
A Night School Camp will be held August 6-9 from 5:30 to 9 for boys and girls in the same grades.
Rayfield and a coaching staff will provide foundation skills at each camp.
