After finishing 3-7 last season, 2nd year head coach Chad Depee is hoping that his Monett squad can take another step towards becoming a winning team in the 2011 campaign.

The Cubs bring back experience at the skill positions on offense.  Juniors Aaron Hall (RB) and Curran Blamey (RB) give Monett a dangerous 1-2 punch in the backfield, and teamed with senior Tyler Green (QB), the Cubs are expecting to put up some points this year.

While Monett has some experience, what they don't have is depth.  "Depth is a definite concern", said Depee.  "We need to keep our returners healthy."

Monett opens the season with a home contest against McDonald County on August 26th.
