Numbers are up in "White Squirrel Country" as the Marionville Comets seek a return to the days of their state title game runs.

Bill Voorhis enters his 2nd year as head coach and is excited about his teams attitude.

"I think these kids have high hopes," said Voorhis.  "I'm happy with our weight room gains over the summer."

The Comets are coming off a 4-6 season in which they lost 3 games by a touchdown or less.

With 6 starters returning on offense and 8 on defense the Comets expect to be a contender in the Mid Lakes Conference.

Offensive line strength and depth will be a strong suit for Marionville.  The problem will be finding enough skill players.

Leading the way this season are seniors Dylan Rapp (RB/LB), Austin Hadley (DE), and John Zanaboni (Safety).

The Comets open the 2011 season August 26th at non-conference Osceola.
