KSPR and Wendy's are teaming to honor the best high school athletes in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas. Starting September 11, we'll honor one high school student for their achievement on the field and in the classroom. Feb. 3 Athlete of the Week: Dylan Price, Spokane Basketball

The 4th ranked Spokane Owls are off to an impressive 16-2 start thanks largely in part to 1 of their 3 seniors. Jan. 21 Athlete of the Week: Hannah Wilkerson, Miller Basketball

Miller senior Hannah Wilkerson is now just days from setting Missouri's all-time scoring record. With 38 points Thursday night, the 5-8 guard moved to within 144 points of former Morrisville/Marshfield star Melissa Grider's record 3,211 points. Jan. 14 Athlete of the Week: Olivia Harrell, Glendale Swimming

Glendale's Olivia Harrell has loved swimming since she was 5 years old. Now, the senior's hard work has paid off with a division-I scholarship to Boise State. Harrell will go for her first individual state title this Spring, but more importantly she would like to lead Glendale to its first state team title. Read more »

Jan. 7th Athlete of the Week: Preston Guiot, Bolivar Basketball

Bolivar senior Preston Guiot is one of the top players in the Ozarks. The 4-year Liberator starter is approaching 2,000 career points. The growing pains are over for the Parkview boys basketball team. Coach BIll Brown's team struggled last year with five sophomore starters. Fair Grove senior Caleb Schaffitzel is now the states all-time career touchdown leader. Schaffitzel scored 4 touchdowns Thursday night in Pleasant Hope bringing his career total to 133, passing current Pierce City head coach Brad Hocker's record of 129. Facing elimination, Republic senior Hailey Johnson got the biggest hit of her high school career. Johnson's walk-off grand slam in Saturday's class 3 state quarterfinal sent the Tigers to their 2nd straight final four, 4-2 over Boone County. Read more »

After 3 fast place finishes at the 87th Aldo Sebben Relays Tuesday and another 3 wins at the superconference meet on Wednesday, Lymon earns this weeks Wendy's High School Athlete of the Week.
