The Hillcrest Hornets are state champs for the first time since 1984. It was a long road to the Show-Me Showdown full of ups and downs, but ended with a 54-49 comeback win over 4th ranked Oakville Saturday night at Mizzou Arena.

Trey Starks emerged as a bonafied star with 22 points in the championship, including the dunk everyone is talking about.  Dorial Green had 21 points and made the big plays down the stretch to seal the win.

Hillcrest looks to defend its title next season, but they'll do it in class 4.

The final Missouri high school basketball rankings are well represented with Ozarks teams. The biggest jump on the boys side comes from Hillcrest. The Hornets going from unranked to 6th on the night of their sectional showdown with 2nd ranked Nixa. Classes 1-3 close out district play this week. Read more »

Hillcrest High School has reason to celebrate as both the Hornets and Lady Hornets are district champs. The boys beat Joplin 52-42 for their first district title since 2001. The girls downed Willard 54-49. Read more »
The 2nd ranked Nixa boys get better every game and they proved it Saturday night with a convincing 62-47 district championship win over Branson. It's Nixa's first district championship since 2002 when they were still class 4. Read more »
The Kickapoo Lady Chiefs are district champs tonight after a 49-27 win over rival Glendale. Kickapoo snapped a streak of 4 straight district runner-up finishes with the win. It was made even sweeter by the presence of head coach Stephanie Phillips who is battling cancer. Read more »
