HS Football Preview Week: Aurora Houn' Dawgs

By KSPR Sports

The countdown to Friday football continues with a look at the Big 8 Conference.   Cassville and Monett have been the powers of late, but with a new coach, Aurora hopes to restore the program thats won 3 state titles.
Rick scholten takes over his 3rd team in three seasons, spending last year in Fair Grove, after taking Marionville to a pair of state championship appearances in 05 and 06.  After 4 straight losing seasons, Scholten is looking to change his teams mindset, and believes that begins with discipline and hard work in the weight room.
Chris Crowley, Shane McKay, Garrett Ornsby, and Waylon Doty are among the players scholten expects big seasons from.  This years seniors were in 3rd grade the last time the Houn' Dawgs won state.  Scholten hopes they're ready to restore that tradition.  Listen to Scholtens full interview above.

Here's a look at the Houn' Dawgs' 2008 schedule

8/29 - Logan-Rogersville
9/5 - @ Carl Junction
9/12 - @ Lamar
