HS Football Preview Week: Cabool Bulldogs

By KSPR Sports

The countdown to high school football continues with a look at the South Central Association, home to one of the best neighboring rivalries of any in the Ozarks. Last fall it was Cabool knocking off Mountain Grove in the station sectionals, by one point, in overtime, on a two-point conversion.
Even though Cabool fell in the quarterfinals in a close game against East Newton, and there's reason for optimision again in Bulldog country.
Coach Vince McCrosky returns for his ninth year and is excited about the fastest group he's ever coached. An impressive 20 lettermen return for Cabool, but the key will be a trio of lightning-fast skill players expected to put up huge numbers out of the Wing-T offense.
The Bulldogs lose four All-State players, but there's plenty of talent coming back. Look out for sophomore running back Donovan Baker, a junior Olympic sprinter. Baker will share the backfield with returning starter Joe McCarty and follow the block of standout guard Trent Sears.
Coach Mac has the talent, the experience, and the coaching staff for another deep run into the playoffs, but believes it all starts with the right attitude. You can see Mike's entire entertaining interview with Coach McCrosky right here.

Here's a look at the Bulldogs' 2008 schedule:
