Carnival in Germany
Carnival enthousiasts gather in the streets of Elzach during to the traditional torch parade on January 12, 2013 in Elzach, Germany. The Elzach procession launches the carnival season in southwestern Germany which culminates on Rose Monday. Dating from 1530 the carnival marks a festive period where the bad spirits are expelled prior to the Lenting season.
