UPDATE: Cat rescued after being stuck in Nixa tree for three frigid nights
The cat, Mr. Mister, has been stuck about 40 feet up a tree for about three long days. Mr. Mister normally resides at Nixa's Main Street Auto Service.
Across the street from Nixa's Main Street Auto Service lives Nelson Butler, the owner of the tulip poplar tree in which Mr. Mister is stuck. Butler has been worried about the cat since day one. He says the cat cries all through the night. Mr. Mister make his unhappiness known by crying anytime anyone calls out to him.
Mr. Mister was dumped at Nixa's Main Street Auto Service a couple of months ago. They took him in and started caring for him. He became the shop's mascot.
Both John Zilcough and Chris Roch of Main Street Auto Service and Nelson Butler said the Nixa Fire Department came out to rescue the cat, but they were unable to help due to power lines being in the way.
Now everybody, including a neighbor cat that patiently sits at the bottom of the tree, waits for Mr. Mister to either get up enough nerve to come down on his own or for some volunteers to figure out a way to get the cat down without causing danger to themselves or to Nelson's tree.
