My Best Shot -- North Carolina

When visiting Bryson City, N.C., in June, Mike, Anne and Matthew Williamson of <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100410110000" title="Maitland" href="/topic/us/florida/orange-county-%28florida%29/maitland-PLGEO100100410110000.topic">Maitland</a> spent a day river rafting at a Civil War site called Deep Creek. While taking a break, they noticed a Labrador retriever crossing the river at a rough section. &#8220;The dog then climbed up the side of the waterfall and assumed his post as the King of Deep Creek,&#8221; said Mike, who was unable to resist photographing His Majesty.
