SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Ozarks Food Harvest awarded $250,000 to nearly 50 food pantries and hunger-relief programs on Tuesday at a news conference at the O’Reilly Center for Hunger Relief. The infrastructure grants, ranging in value from $1,300 to $10,000, went to the purchase of industrial-sized freezers, coolers, shelving and other supplies to help expand the capacity of Missouri’s emergency food system.

A few storms have reached severe limits this afternoon across central Missouri. These storms have mainly dropped heavy rain and some small hail. We haven't heard reports of any damaging winds yet. These are all developing off an outflow boundary or a "mini" cold front. This boundary is drifting south and triggering storms along it. They should weaken as we go throughout this evening.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The preliminary hearing for Jose Huckleberry, accused of killing a couple in their home in Greene County was Monday. Greene County Associate Circuit Judge Jason Brown found probable cause for two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and one count of burglary, and sent the case to circuit court.

Man from Ava pleads guilty for murdering teen

Mother is charged after death of infant from Mountain View

Mountain View police were called to the Mountain View home Sunday afternoon.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Mo.-- A five month old girl is dead and her mother, Bobbie Derryberry, 21, faces multiple charges. According to documents filed by the Howell County prosecuting attorney, emergency responders and Mountain View Police were called to a home on Herman Street. The parents told investigators they woke to find the 5-month-old girl unresponsive at about 1:30 Sunday afternoon. The baby died at the scene.
