On Monday afternoon WSBT asked its Facebook followers if they've heard of any cases ...

More than 20 people told us a family member is suffering or has recently suffered the disease in the past couple weeks.

Doctors say its common among children under the age of 10, specifically 6 months to 4 years old. But, that doesn't mean adults are in the clear.

Hand, foot and mouth disease is a "fecal oral" disease, meaning someone will change the child's diaper and perhaps, not wash their hands or a child puts his hands in their underwear gets fecal matter on the hands and then puts their hands in their mouth ... that's how it usually spreads.

If you get the disease, doctors say take Ibuprofen for the pain, and even though it may hurt to drink or eat, keep drinking water to prevent dehydration and further complications.
