Inmate Dies at South Central Correctional Center

An inmate at the South Central Correctional Center near Licking has died. Warden Michael Bowersox says 55-year-old Robert Hammond was pronounced dead early this morning at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. The warden says Hammond died of natural causes.

According to a news release, Hammond was serving a 25 year sentence for Statutory Sodomy from Pulaski County. Hammond had been at the correctional center since February 2003.
