Branson tourism is feeling the effects of a lagging economy.
This week the board of aldermen heard the numbers from 2009.
The Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce told the city overall visits dropped almost four percent last year.
7.2 million people came to Branson last year, down from 7.5 million in 2008.
There is a bright side.
The chamber says the visitors who did come to Branson spent more.
The number of families visiting also increased and the average age of Branson visitors dropped from 51 to 49.
