Hollister Parks Director Killed in Crash

By KSPR News

The Hollister parks director is dead after a fatal crash in Taney County.

The wreck happened just after midnight on Business 65 in Hollister.

Twenty-seven year old Chad Carter made a U-turn into the path of Parks Director Chad Fuqua.

The crash forced Fuqua off his motorcycle.

He died about an hour later at Skaggs Hospital.

Fuqua worked for the city of Hollister for 9 years. He spent about 6 as the parks director.

According to Hollister City Administrator Rick Ziegenfuss, going above and beyond for the city's parks was Fuqua’s life.

His second love was his black lab, Pepper.

The city set up a site where anyone can drop off cards, donations, and other items.

It’s at the Hollister Town Hall on 312 Esplanade Street.

The city will give the items to Fuqua’s family.

God has an ANGEL. Chad was my cousin, but he was so tight with my immediate family that I considered him my brother. I will miss him so much, I live in Nashville and don't get home much but when I do its always nice when Chad is there too. Last time we spoke he was going to come to Nashville and visit, but we never got that chance. I will miss you so much Chad. My love goes out to his mother and father brother and sister. May God give us all strength to accept the things we cannot change. Cyndi
