Branson Fire Proves False Alarm

By KSPR News
By Joanna Small

There was a mass exodus from the Radisson Hotel in Branson Saturday when fire alarms screamed evacuation orders at guests and employees.
Turns out, though, there was no fire.
The Branson Fire Department responded to the scene at about 4 p.m. Saturday and saw no visible smoke from the outside of the building.
Firefighters did a thorough search of the inside and determined a faulty elevator motor is what caused all the fuss.
Smoke inside the elevator shaft triggered the alarms.
The fire department quickly killed the power, the elevator was put out of service, and the Radisson returned to business as usual.
