$3.9 Million Secured for Ozarks Organizations

Southwest Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt today announced he secured federal funding for seven area priorities in the Commerce, Justice, Science and the Energy and Water appropriation bills that recently passed the House Appropriations Committee. The two bills must now pass the Senate and full House of Representatives before becoming law.

The following Southwest Missouri projects requested by Blunt were included in the below bills:

· Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies appropriations

o $800,000 for the Greene County Emergency Operations Center to purchase specialized equipment for the center

o $700,000 for the Springfield Police Department to replace and upgrade their records system to allow officers in the field to access vital information

o $400,000 for White River Area Emergency Project in Taney County to implement an integrated communications system for first responders

· Energy and Water Appropriations

o $1 million for the Missouri Alternative and Renewable Energy Technology, MARET, at Crowder College to research renewable energy

o $500,000 for the Corp of Engineers to complete pre-construction engineering to mitigate flooding along Jordan Creek

o $500,000 to help build an environmentally friendly and energy efficient roof on the Greene County Courthouse.
