Pot Bust in Stone County

By KSPR News

Missouri's annual pot-eradication effort gets underway with a bust in Stone County.

Sheriff's deputies, aided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, say they spotted pot plants growing in containers behind a home around Blackjack School Road and Ozark Road.

Police say they found about 60 plants in pots around the back of a barn. "The plants were from 2 to 5 feet in height," police say in a news release. "There were paths leading from the residence to the barn and plants."

Another 37 plants were found in the basement of the home, police say.

The home's owner, Charles E. Peters, was arrested in Crane. He's being held on $100,000 bond.

All wars hurt our economy. This includes the war on drugs [which is against our own people], and in Iraq. When do we decide to let people make their own decisions, there is no reason someone should sit in prison for smoking marijuana. If someone wants to hurt themselves by smoking marijuana, it should be their choice, but we should regulate it as a country. Incarcerate offenders of the regulated system, not the responsible smokers. Victimless, violence free crimes do not deserve prison time.

i have to agree there are alot harder drugs out there including alcohol it should have just been taken away with no charge it would save billions each year for the tax payers. they could use the money to find more meth labs or get people the help they need to get off the drugs. I also understand about minors getting it but the can put an stipulation on it they want

The war on "drugs" has lasted for over 37 years and costs you, the taxpayer billions each year. The pharm companies produce and sell drugs that are more addictive and harmful, that have more negative side effects than positive, and make billion$ of dollars pushing the drugs on a stupified and already over-medicated and toxic public. Leave this poor guy alone and go after the dirty politicians who take "campaign contributions" from the true drug dealers. BTW was there a search warrant?
