Confirmed Tornado Strikes Near El Dorado Springs

The National Weather Service says a weak tornado with winds of 85 miles per hour touched down Monday afternoon in Vernon County and tracked toward El Dorado Springs.

The EF-0 tornado touched down in Schell City in northeast Vernon County. The twister tracked along an intermittment path to the southwest entering St. Clair County near Highway 82.

The NWA says the storm damaged roofs in Schell City and blew over a barn northeast of El Dorado Springs.

The tornado's path was 300 yards at its widest and cut a path about 11 miles long.
