County by County Rundown

A second wave is taking shape and could cause hazardous roads and power outages. Much of the KSPR viewing area remains under an ice storm warning.

Here is the latest information on outages and shelters from the Region D Joint Information System (DJIS):

BARRY
Few power outages in NW corner, rural Pierce City. No shelters open at this time. Getting rain, in Monett.

BARTON

Anyone who needs overnight shelter should now report to the National Guard Armory on 2nd and Broadway in Lamar.

Be sure to bring change of clothes, personal hygiene items, blanket and pillow.

If you live in Lamar and have no transportation to the shelter, please call 682-5554.

If you live in the county and have no transportation to the shelter, call the Sheriff’s department at 682-5515.

Anyone who needs hot meals can call the fire department at 682-5512.


WalMart has power and supplies.


CEDAR

Stockton out of electricity again.

Individuals who are without power and need overnight shelter should call the Sheriff’s Office at 276-5507.

CHRISTIAN

Nothing to report at this time.

DADE

Arcola and Lockwood city power back on. Still out in NW part of the county.

Overnight shelter open Dade County Nursing Home. Food and bedding are available. Please bring your own medication and personal items.

Roads are in good shape. Limbs down.

DALLAS

Nothing to report at this time.

GREENE

Lots of rain in county. All roads passable at this time.

HICKORY

Several trees down in Wheatland. Some homes without power. Highway 54 still clear.


JOPLIN/JASPER

Warming centers:

St Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2423 W 26th in Joplin

Fairview Christian Church, 2320 Grand Avenue in Carthage

Anyone welcome at warming centers. Bring your own blankets, food, personal items, etc. Emergency Management will decide later this afternoon whether to convert these to overnight shelters.

More rain coming up to ¼ inch.

All roads open.

LAWRENCE

Ice on trees. Streets are wet. No power outages reported at this time. Temperature at approximately 30 degrees.

MCDONALD

Ice in the far NW corner of the county. Roads are wet and it’s foggy out.

NEWTON

Roads are wet. Minor outages in the north part of the county. Temp at about 30 - 32 degrees.

POLK

No road closures to their knowledge at this time, including Highway 13. Main roads are open and clear.

Slick spots by Aldridge and Dunnegan and bridges are ice-covered.

Southwest Electric has power outages in the northern part of the county. The rest of the county power outages are sporadic. Empire Electric customers have power in Polk County.


ST. CLAIR

Roads are ice-covered, limbs and trees are down widespread throughout the county. Electric companies are working to restore power.


STONE

Roads are wet.


TANEY

Nothing to report at this time.

VERNON

No shelters open at this time. Individuals who are need overnight shelter should call 667-8236. Side roads are ice-covered, but main roads are clear.


WEBSTER

Some ice on vehicles. All roads passable.

Camden County was not included on the Region D Joint Information System (DJIS) list. The DJIS is in charge of the area. We will try to get more information about Camden.
