7 Mo. residents indicted in online pharmacy case

By KSPR News

The U.S. Attorney's Office says seven central Missouri residents have been indicted for allegedly taking part in a $3.4 million conspiracy to deal prescription drugs over the Internet.

Prosecutors say the indictment is the first federal prosecution of an online pharmacy in Missouri.

The 17-count indictment accuses the defendants of operating Web sites and distributing hydrocodone and other drugs through fraudulent prescriptions.

The charges allege that scheme continued from sometime in 2005 until October 2007.

Three of the defendants are from St. Robert. The others are from Eldon and Waynesville.
