FEMA Assistance Available for 16 More Counties

By KSPR News

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, approved 16 more Missouri counties to receive Individual Assistance after last month's floods.

Five of those counties are in the Ozarks and include Laclede, McDonald, Shannon, Taney, and Webster.

Assessment crews finished touring the areas and determined the counties do deserve the declaration. With this declaration residents and business owners with flood damage may immediately register for help from FEMA.

These counties are added to 19 already approved for Individual Assistance. Last week FEMA approved Christian, Greene, Newton, Jasper, Oregon, Phelps, Pulaski, Stone, and Texas counties.

If you live in any of these counties and flood waters damaged your home or business you should call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362. The phone lines are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can also report your damage online, just follow the link located in this story below "Related Content."
