The Springfield City Council could soon consider a proposal to shut down Park Central Square every night at 11 p.m.
When Council meets Monday it will consider the proposal to close the square between 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The exceptions would be New Year's Eve and during special events permitted by the city manager's office.
This would give police the authority to enforce anti-loitering ordinances.
The city says if you're walking through the square this will not affect you.
