In-state tuition and fees at Radford University are going up. But the increase is lower than those adopted at several other public universities in Virginia.
The Roanoke Times reports that Radford's Board of Visitors voted 8-6 Friday to raise in-state undergraduate tuition and fees for the 2012-2013 academic year by 3.2 percent.
Mary Washington increased in-state tuition by 5 percent earlier this month. Tuition at the College of William and Mary will increase by 3.3 percent. The University of Virginia has approved a 3.7 percent increase.
Gov. Bob McDonnell has asked the governing boards of colleges and universities to hold down tuition and fee increases for Virginia resident students.
Radford's board also raised tuition and fees for all graduate students and out-of-state undergraduate students by varying amounts.
