The clock is ticking to both the democratic and republican national conventions, which means the search for vice presidents is coming to an end.
Sources tell ABC News Barack Obama has decided on a running mate, but as of Tuesday morning has not called the candidate to let them know.
Some possible candidates who may hear the phone ring include Virginia governor Tim Kaine, Indiana senator Evan Bayh, and Delaware senator Joe Biden.
John McCain is expected to announce his VP on his 72nd birthday, which is 10 days away.
Possible choices for him include Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.
