Trapped in the Speed Zone

By Brad Belote

SPRINGFIELD -- With tips from our viewers, KSPR's Emily Rittman took a radar gun into neighborhoods to find out just how much of a problem speeding is.

Her first target was South Kansas Avenue and Westview Street in south
Springfield. The posted speed limit is 30 miles per hour.

Heather Stout is a preschool teacher there.

"Kids going on bicycles, skateboarding and no sidewalks I'm just worried someone will get hit," Stout said.

Our radar gun caught 20 drivers going eight miles or more over the limit.
