PETOSKEY — Petoskey News-Review staffers received a number of awards in the 2011 Michigan Associated Press Editorial Association contest.
The News-Review competes in division one, newspapers with a daily circulation of up to 15,000, along with Livingston County Daily Press, Huron Daily Tribune and Escanaba Daily Press, among others.

— Features: Third place for "A garden grows," by Sheri McWhirter
— Investigative reporting: First place for "Court filings point to code of conduct policy being drafted," by Sheri McWhirter
— Sports enterprise: First place for "Remarkable vision," by Andy Sneddon
— Sports column: Second place for "Great eight," by Andy Sneddon
— Informational graphics or illustrations: First place for "Don't forget to look up," by Renee Tanner; third place for "Bear River map," by Renee Tanner
