For years, a California man has sworn by a silver substance he drinks to cure just about anything that ailed him.

Well it not only cured him, but it changed the color of his skin.... to blue!

Fourteen years ago Paul Karason had fair skin and freckles. Today his skin is a deep blue purple color.

What he did was drink a substance called colloidal silver.

It’s made by extracting silver from metal into water with an electrical current.

Karason says the transition was so gradual a friend had to point it out to him.

"The change was so gradual I didn't notice it. A friend I hadn't seen in months saw me when I was at my parents house and said, what did you do to your face," Karason said.

Paul says he hasn't bothered with getting medical help.

He’s prepared to live with it for the rest of his life.
