Lack of Sun May Cause Lung Cancer

By KSPR News

A lack of sunlight may be causing more than just pale skin.

A new study suggests there's a link between a lack of sun and an increased risk for lung cancer.

The study from University of California San Diego looked at lung cancer rates for more than 100 countries around the world.

They found countries located near the equator generally had lower rates of lung cancer.

Researchers say the key is Vitamin D. The sun's ultraviolet rays trigger more, which they say can lower the risk.
