SPRINGFIELD, Mo. --  Dorial Green-Beckham led the Hillcrest Hornets to a 55-43 rebound victory over Chicago St. Rita in the early game of the Tournament of Champions at JQH Arena Friday night. The senior football standout showed his tremendous basketball talent in front of University of Missouri offensive coordinator David Yost.

Hillcrest raced out to a 15-6 first quarter advantage over the Mustangs from Chicago St. Rita, as Austin Petry, DGB, and Roy Hardy contributed early baskets for the Hornets.

The second quarter saw both teams' respective defenses take over the ballgame, as St. Rita outscored Hillcrest by a score of only 8-7, yet Hillcrest still went into the locker room with a 22-14 advantage.

Dorial Green-Beckham’s first half highlight was a breakaway one-handed dunk, which electrified a Springfield crowd that has become accustomed to DGB's highlight reel dunks.

The third quarter saw Hillcrest take over the game, as DGB had 16 points going into the fourth quarter as Hillcrest led 40-27. The fourth quarter was relatively even, as the teams traded baskets while Hillcrest protected its lead. DGB added six points in the fourth quarter to give him 22 for the game, as he finished 9-20 from the field and 4-6 from the free throw line.

DGB's play, along with 12 points from Roy Hardy and 10 from Austin Petry, gave Hillcrest the 55-43 victory over Chicago St. Rita. St. Rita was led by Victor Law, who had 16 points on 5-13 shooting from the field. However, Law was the only Mustang in double figures, as Charles Matthews’ 6 points was the next highest point total for the Chicago school.

Hillcrest advanced to the fifth place game Saturday at 6:30 p.m., where the Hornets will face the winner of the Sylvan Hills-Glendale game. St. Rita will play the loser of that contest in the seventh place game Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
