ROGERSVILLE, Mo. -- Two people who police say abducted their granddaughter in Tennessee were arrested as they were driving through Webster County on Wednesday.

Larry Shane, 38, and Meredith Shane, 44, both of Leander, Texas, were arrested at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday on a felony warrant out of Waverly, Tenn., for kidnapping a minor.  Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Jason Pace said the Shanes were pulled over along U.S. 60 in Rogersville.

Pace said troopers received information from police out of Waverly, Tenn., of the description of the vehicle they were driving -- a 2005 Ford Ranger.  Troopers saw the pickup along U.S. 60 between Seymour and Rogersville and made the traffic stop.

The granddaughter, whose age was not immediately known, was turned over to protective custody until her mother could return her to their home.  Pace said the girl was in good condition and didn't appear to be injured at all during the situation.

A reporter's call to police in Waverly, Tenn., to seek further information about initial details of the kidnapping was not immediately returned.
