NORWOOD, Mass. -- Missouri State University will play the winner of tonight's Louisiana Tech-Southern Mississippi game in the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason men's basketball tournament Monday, tournament organizers announced Thursday.
The Bears (21-12) are seeded third in the CIT and are coming off an 87-79 first-round home win over Middle Tennessee on Wednesday. If 15th-seeded Louisiana Tech (23-10) defeats Southern Miss. tonight, the Bulldogs would come to JQH Arena Monday for a 7:05 p.m. game. However, if No. 2 USM (20-13) wins tonight's game against Louisiana Tech, the Bears would travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to play the Golden Eagles in Monday night's quarterfinals.
Game time for tonight's Louisiana Tech vs. Southern Miss first-round CIT game is set for 7 p.m. and is the final first-round game of the CIT.
Monday's other quarterfinal pairings are:
(6) Appalachian State (23-10) at (1) Marshall (24-9)
(5) Fairfield (23-10) at (4) Creighton (17-15)
(11) Pacific (21-11) at (9) Northern Colorado (25-7)
Should the Bears host Louisiana Tech on Monday, tickets would be available beginning at 10 a.m. Friday by calling (417) 836-7678 or in person at the Chevy Pick-up Window at JQH Arena. The Athletics Box Office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, however, extended hours will be available this weekend as follows. The ticket office will be open Friday through the end of the Lady Bears' (7:05 p.m.) WNIT game. The ticket office will also be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. If the Lady Bears win their first-round WNIT game Friday, they would host a 2:05 p.m. game Sunday, giving Bears' fans another opportunity to purchase tickets, beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday through the end of the women's game.
A limited number of free student tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
