Deep in the hollows of Highway H in Lampe, music will resound once again this summer.
"We really started with nothing here, and have built it up. I think what we've created is an incredible venue for people to catch a concert outside in the Ozarks," said amphitheater manager Steven White.
After a ten year break, the Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater will reopen Memorial Day weekend.
"It will be good for all of us. The restaurants will do well. The convenient stores will do well. The motels will do fabulous because they will have a place to stay," said Sharon Stimson.
Inside Bob's One Stop, we caught up with Stimson who saw her first show at the amphitheater when she was in her 20's.
"We had a lot of good times down there, met friends, had a good time. Everybody enjoyed themselves. It was wonderful. It was just great," said Stimson.
She says while the Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater brings a lot of money to the small town of Lampe, it also brings a lot of big names.
"I've seen Beach Boys. They were there. Loretta Lynn was there. Willie Nelson. Several people have played," said Stimson.
The reopening of the amphitheater hopes to be just as spectacular.
The line-up already includes acts like Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Foreigner, Styx, Kansas, REO Speedwagon, Lee Greenwood and B.B. King, just to name a few.
As far as the amphitheater's seating capacity, it can seat 5,400 people in the reserved seating area, but can add another 2,000 to up in the grassy general admission area.
Amphitheater manager Steven White says the average ticket price will be between 35 and 55 dollars per ticket, but when you are seeing multiple acts per night, it breaks down nicely.
"If there is an average ticket price of 60 dollars for that Kansas, Styx, Foreigner show. That's 20 dollars a band for some great bands. It's very important to me that I keep our ticket pricing fair," said White.
Crews are now working on the finishing touches.
Fresh coats of paint are being applied to the seating area, and the stage was expanded to be even bigger.
People in Lampe say they are excited to see big name acts coming to their back yards once again.
"I don't know what the excitement is, but it's just like you are pumped. You are jammed. You go, they are playing a mile and a half from my house. You can't believe it. I don't know. The excitement is just so much greater here," said Stimson.
Tickets for Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater shows are tentatively set to go on sell next Monday, March 15th.
The venue was once known as "Swiss Villa Amphitheater."
It first opened in 1983.
