Good morning! It is a frigid and slick start to this Tuesday morning. I was surprised... Springfield only saw a dusting of snow but all of that snow that melted as it hit the surface yesterday has certainly turned to ice this morning. Take a look at the current wind chills this morning (8am)... it's been awhile since it has been THIS cold.

The storm that brought two main bands of snow to our area (one to the north of Springfield, and one to Northern Arkansas) is moving east. Today we could see some wrap-around cloud coverage from the LOW situated to the north. With this cloud coverage a few flurries could fall... but it shouldn't add up to much for those that see it.

As that LOW moves east... we are going to be dealing with STRONG northerly winds. Take a look at the model below and notice how close the lines are packed together over Missouri. That's the pressure gradient force... the closer the lines, the stronger the winds. You can also see the chance for wrap-around precipitation in the graphic below.

The cold air will be stick around for awhile. The next 2 days will stay in the 20's... after that, the 30's will be considered a warm-up. The good news with the cold temps, we will be staying dry. There is only a slight chance of snow on Friday. A strong storm will be positioned to the south and we could see a little moisture meander into our area.

Have a wonderful Tuesday. Be careful and keep warm!
