The Neosho City Council has approved an agreement with accounting firm BKD to review the city's finances.
The Springfield-based firm's Joplin office will charge $150 per hour for an estimated 40 hours of work, for a total of $6,000, to analyze the city's bank accounts.
The council has also requested a review of a city financial plan developed by recently suspended city manager Jan Blase.
Council members approved a cap of $10,000 for BKD's services.
