We got a white Christmas, in exchange for a barrage of travel headaches.
The Christmas Eve winter storm caused more than 135 flight cancellations in Dallas, Texas, and travelers in Springfield were feeling the effects Christmas Day.
People trying to get to Dallas on American Airlines spent the afternoon at the Springfield-Branson National Airport fighting delays, many of which ended in cancellations.
For one Florida couple, the bad weather and a mechanical problem mean an overnight stay in the Queen City with the airline picking up the tab.
"They put us up in a hotel that has an indoor pool so we'll watch some movies, get something to eat. They gave us vouchers for food tonight and tomorrow; we're both from Jacksonville so we'll probably go play in the snow," say Jason Sikes and Molly McKinney.
The couple have been re-booked on a 6:45 a.m. flight Saturday.
They'll have to make an extra stop this time, but hope to be home in Jacksonville to see family for the holidays, better a day late than never.
