Missouri Lawmakers Want to Further Restrict Pseudoephedrine Access

By KSPR News

Amid a national push to make health care cheaper and simpler, Missouri is considering legislation that intentionally makes it more cumbersome.

State lawmakers have filed bills that would require a doctor's prescription to get certain cold and allergy medications that currently can be bought over the counter. The idea is to make it harder to produce methamphetamine by restricting the key ingredient pseudoephedrine.

Missouri's efforts to further limit access to the medicine come as officials are trying to expand access to health care across the country.
