A former Greenfield High School teacher pleaded guilty Thursday to having sex with a student. Alison Peck, 24, was charged with second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy in Lawrence County. She will be on supervised probation for five years. The judge ordered several special conditions. Peck must register as a sex offender; she cannot contact the victim; and she must pay costs as directed by a probation officer.
Peck pleaded guilty Monday to statutory rape in Greene County. Investigators say she arranged to meet the student at a hotel after she was first charged in Dade County for having sex with the student. Peck will be back in court for the Dade County case later this month.
The father of the student filed a civil lawsuit against Peck. In the lawsuit, the family says Peck enticed their son by flirting with him at school, convincing him to come to her office during lunch and to her home for sex. The family says Peck violated her position of power and trust as a high-school music teacher. The suit states their son is afraid to return to school or participate in school activities because he is ridiculed and mocked by other students.
