Meningitis Cases Reported in Mansfield

The Wright County Coroner says a toddler has died from bacterial meningitis.
Brison Coffman would have turned three years old on Sunday (11-29).
The Bank of Mansfierld has set up a special account to help pay funeral expenses.

Coroner Ben Hurtt says at least one other family member has been hospitalized also with bacterial meningitis.   He says that person is getting better.  
    
Monday (11-23) the Wright County Health Department sent a letter to parents of children in the Mansfield school district.
It says the district has confirmed a case of bacterial meningitis.

Very close contacts of the student have been indentified and treated appropriately.
It suggests parents watch their children for signs and symptoms that include fever, rash, headache, stiff neck, and light sensitivity.
