Guardsman Faces Terror Charge

By KSPR News

Authorities in Pulaski County say a Missouri National Guardsman faces charges of making a terrorist threat in a school near Whiteman Air Force Base.

Private First Class Michael John Frederick reportedly walked into a Sedalia high school last weekend and told the superintendent the Army was on the lookout for escaped prisoners who might kidnap students.

Frederick was wearing his military uniform, but there weren'* any escaped inmates -- and authorities at Fort Leonard Wood say the 19-year-old was absent without leave.

Frederick was arrested Thursday night. He faces up to four years in prison in civilian court. He joined the guard in 2008.
