Howell County Investigators: Someone Killed Mother of Two on Friday the 13th

By KSPR News

Investigators in Howell County say someone killed a mother of two on Friday the 13th. At first, officers thought they were investigating a deadly crash. They're now calling it a homicide. Police say the crime scene and Becki Lynn Dillard's injuries didn't add up to a car crash. Her family is searching for answers. On Tuesday, her husband Justin sat on the family's couch crying. He first met Becki in 7th grade. "I can remember exactly what she was wearing," Dillard says. "I knew right then I loved her."

Dillard's wife of four years never made it to her sister's 21st birthday party last Friday. The petite, 85-pound cosmetologist's body was found along Highway FF, near Missouri 142 in Moody. A passerby discovered her around 10 p.m. and called 911. The caller thought Dillard died in a car crash. "They did not find the kind of blunt force trauma you normally see in a car crash," Highway Patrol Troop G Sergeant Marty Elmore says. Elmore doesnt want to release details of Dillard's injuries, exact cause of death or condition of the car. "We don't have much detail on that, just that it was in the road," Elmore says.

Investigators and Dillard's family are asking for help. "Oh god please, if you know anything, no matter how minute or even just a maybe, please call," Dillard's mother-in-law Debra "Cookie" Dillard says. "She has two babies that won't get to know their mother." The family is heartbroken. Four-year-old Colby and one-year-old Kryckett didn't get to grow old with their mom. "I told Colby, 'God looked at his bouqet, and he needed a purple flower for his garden,'" Debra Dillard says. "He looked all over the world and the prettiest purple flower he could find was his mom's."

Dillard's family says she left last Friday night to buy makeup at Wal-Mart to wear to her sister's party, but she never arrived. Investigators are asking anyone who saw Dillard's dark colored SUV before or around 10:00 p.m. on the thirteenth to call the Missouri Highway Patrol at (417) 469-3121.
