The trial of the man accused of killing Wichita abortion provider George Tiller has been continued until January 25th of next year.

Scott Roeder was scheduled to go to trial Monday, but prosecutors and defense attorneys had both said previously they wanted it moved to a later date.

Roeder is accused of gunning down tiller as he walked into his church on the last Sunday in May; under Kansas law Roeder will not face the death penalty, if convicted.

Tiller was one of the last remaining doctors who performed third trimester abortions.
