Cited for Selling Alcohol to Minors

Four people were cited for selling alcohol to minors in a recent two county sting in the Ozarks.
The Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control says investigators checked 11 places in Greene and Webster counties on September, 8.
Three people in Marshfield and one person in Strafford are charged.


FULL PRESS RELEASE:
Gene Lacy, State Supervisor for the Missouri Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, announces that the Division conducted 11 alcohol compliance check investigations in Webster and Greene counties on September 8, 2009.

The investigations resulted in charges against four individuals. Each was charged with sale of liquor to a minor. In addition, the retail locations were cited for sale of liquor to a minor and will face possible fines and/or suspension of their liquor licenses from the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.

Those facing charges are:

Jessica P. Buttram – Kay’s Country Store, 826 S. Marshall, Marshfield, MO
Lisa M. Richardson – Country Express #2, 785 W. Jackson, Marshfield, MO
Brandy E. Mays – Cody’s Eagle Stop #2, 1308 Spur Drive, Marshfield, MO
Angela Millegan – Team Liquors, 501 E. Old Route 66, Strafford, MO

Supervisor Lacy pointed out that the following seven retail locations did not sell to the undercover minor: Kum & Go 457, 919 W. Washington, Marshfield, MO; Codys Eagle Stop, 185 Hwy W, Marshfield, MO; Wal-Mart Supercenter #78, 14740 State Hwy 38, Marshfield, MO; Murphy Oil #7344, 14724 State Hwy 38, Marshfield, MO; Fastrip Store #28, 1305 Spur Drive, Marshfield, MO; Kum & Go 486, 125 S. Interchange Expressway, Strafford, MO; and Ramey/Price Cutter Supermarket #25, 900 W. Washington, Marshfield, MO.

Supervisor Lacy pointed out that these establishments and their employees are the first line of defense in the battle against underage drinking. He praised them for their continued efforts to make Missouri a safer and healthier place for our youth.
