Many people expect some firework debris to land during the 4th of July weekend but one Rogers, AR neighborhood has been barraged with mysterious debris for more than a month. Neighbors say they feel like they're living in a war zone. Police are stumped, searching for whom or what may be responsible.

"When I mow the lawn I put my hard hat on I need protection," Kevin Montondo says. "It sounds like whiz ... boom and it’s loud." Ever since school let out, the Montondo family and some of their neighbors have been hit by debris daily. "It started with marbles, then bolts, then nuts and now rebar that's been cut its hot when it lands," Sydney Montondo says.

"The police and I think it's somebody using a wrist rocket,” Kevin Montondo says. “You put it on your wrist in it and pull it back like a sling shot." Police say although strange, the barrage is a safety issue. They are interviewing neighbors and patrolling during sieges to find the culprits. Neighbors say the damage is adding up. Three of the Montondo’s vehicles’ windshields are shattered. "It hit this siding imagine if that was your skull," Kevin Montondo says while pointing to a dent in his shed. "The siding is worse than hail damage."

"If it's children doing this, they don't understand the damage they are doing," Sydney Montondo says. Her husband says he just wants the makeshift war to end. Police and neighbors haven't been able to catch the culprit or culprits in the act. If caught they could be charged with felony criminal mischief or harassment and face 3 to 10 years in prison.

The Montondo family says it will spend about $5,000 dollars worth of damage done to their homes and vehicles. The family called police 21 times last month. Now, they are just collecting the debris to turn into police.
