Two of four inmates who escaped from a jail in Oklahoma were captured early Friday in Branson.
Branson police stopped a car for careless driving around 12:30 a.m. Friday near the Wal-Mart on West Highway 76. Inside: Ponca Green, 29, and Benito Jose Bustos, Jr., 45.
Cops say Bustos bailed from the passenger side of the car, ran across the parking lot on Vista Plaza and jumped over a retaining wall.
The fall broke his legs. Bustos was taken to Skaggs Community Hospital.
Green surrenders and was taken to a holding cell at police headquarters. There, he "attempted to strangle himself by twisting his shirt around his neck," police said in a news release. He was taken to Skaggs, then transferred to a Springfield hospital.
Late Friday, the other two inmates were caught at a Branson motel.
