Thursday 8:00pm - A Stormy 4th of July

By Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lighty

Hello and welcome back to the KSPR weather blog. Well we sure have our work cut out for us trying to forecast this complicated weather scenario for the next several days.

Here is a brief look at rainfall amount estimates over the course of the next few days.As you can see we have the potential to see some heavy rain.

Several different rounds of storms will be possible making it hard to pinpoint exact timing and locations. It does look like a couple MCS events will occur, in other words a complex of storms will develop in KS and NE and head SE into our area.

One of those may come 4th of July, according to our model showing storms right over the area Saturday evening. Lets hope not.

Take a look at the SPC severe weather outlook for tomorrow. Looks like areas to the north may find some severe storms.

We may have a better chance of severe weather on Saturday as you can see below.

Stay tuned for updates this upcoming holiday weekend.
