Ok so a recap so far as of this post at 4:00pm. I have drove around 600 miles since this morning and have made it to almost Goodland, KS. YIKES.
One thing I have learned, Kansas takes a lot longer to go from one side of it to the other. It really is amazing how flat things are and how far you can see which is why this is PRIME for chasing and spotting tornadoes. We have had an amazing signal for our live stream that hasn't cut out for about 3 1/2 hours now.
Near Salina it was pretty neat to see a wind farm in operation that stretched for miles. Here is a photo I took on my phone.
I made a stop for some food just awhile ago, and had the pleasure of chowing down on some good ol' gas station hot wings. Oh boy they tasted like rubber, but never has rubber tasted so good. haha
Well the plan is to meet up with the Vortex2 crew who has moved their operations into northeastern Colorado for the day, a little further than what I thought. Chances for supercells are low but at this point they are going for whatever they can get. I doubt I get to see much tonight since its already so late and I have some driving ahead but we will see. Once I do meet up with the crew I plan to shoot video of as much as I can to have for my stories and do various interviews with people tonight and tomorrow morning so that the next couple of days can just be focused on the chase.
Thats it for now, but I will haev more as the evening wears on. Don't forget to follow us on twitter, our name is ksprweather
And of course watch my live video stream for my exact location and live video.
